The Gifts of Our Stories -Making Meaning of Our Lives
“The daughters of Zelophehad are right in what they are saying; you shall indeed let them possess an inheritance among their father’s brothers and pass the inheritance of their father on to them.” — Numbers 27:7
This autumn, we will gather with five bold sisters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah, the Daughters of Zelophehad who challenged societal norms to preserve their family legacy (Numbers 27). Their names carry meaning, and their courage reshaped history for themselves and for generations after them, even changing Israel’s law. In getting to know them, we will explore who and what has shaped our stories, reflect upon values that may have guided our decisions and consider what legacy we long to leave.
Who is this for? This event is open to anyone who is curious about integrating personal storytelling with contemplative prayer reflection. This gathering will be a space for personal reflection and story exploration; an opportunity to both tell and listen to others’ stories of courage.
