A Time to Plant
Sabbath is a loving command, a gift.
We spend so much of our lives building: building careers, building homes, building the next thing on the list. Ecclesiastes 3 says there is a season for that. But it also reminds us there is a season for planting: for putting something small into the ground, trusting it to grow in its own time, and stepping back from our own striving long enough to let it.
You are invited to bring that same intention we so easily give to building, and place it on rest instead. What if we built rhythms the way we build anything else we care about? With attention. With practice. With repetition, over time?
Join us for an evening gathering integrating teaching, scripture, silence and a planting activity where the practice itself becomes an embodied prayer experience of Sabbath.
Our time together will include:
A talk from therapist, Kymáre Hutchinson, on rest and the care of body and soul
A guided contemplative planting activity, held as a space of prayer and reflection
Conversation and creativity
Light bites and drinks
A beautiful potted plant to bring home with you!
This gathering is co-hosted with Kymáre Hutchinson, a therapist and long time friend of Wonder Aloud, who shares this invitation in her own words:
Sabbath is a loving command, a gift. Yet many of us don't honor it, and we feel the consequences mentally, emotionally, and physically. I want to change that — to honor and love God, and to honor His people. Join me as we learn to plant seeds of holy rhythms and embrace the healing joy and rest Abba promises.
Come as you are, ready to slow down, dig in, and plant something, in the soil and in yourself.
Who is this for? This is open to anyone who is curious about creating rhythms of rest and renewal through embodying activity. Or who simply loves planting and wants to connect with God deeper through this form of engagement.
